Neglectful Blogger!!

Did I really go almost 8 months without a single post???? I'm terrible, but honestly don't feel that bad about it... Its the new year so I'll just start over right?!? I'll try to ease my self back in with an update, and we'll go from there. That is if anyone ever looks at my blog anymore... I know I haven't looked at it for MONTHS!!!

Me: Oh no Bobbi (Aubryn), the kindergarten water day is on Friday, and that's the same day as Great-Gramma's funeral
Aubryn: *Tear* can't they do it the day before... Gramma won't care.
Me: you mean the water day or the funeral?
Aubryn: Great-gramma's funeral! *more tears*
Me: are you crying because you can't go to the water day or because of Grandma's funeral?
Aubryn: Both!!! *hysterical crying*
-----about an hour later------
Aubryn: mom I think I changed my attitude
me: about what?
Aubryn: about the water day.
me: oh yeah, how so?
Aubryn: I think it would be better to go to the funeral to tell Gramma I love her one more time, and then next week you can take me to the Aquatic Center... they have slides and stuff.
Me: uhhhmmmm, okay sounds like you've got it all figured out.
Aubryn: Yep

Wow... really?

Today I take Rhiannyn to the bathroom (public bathroom). She hates when I come in the bathroom with her, she likes to do everything herself, but I insist so I go in and just stand there nonchalantly, but I notice that she doesn't have any panties. Conversation goes like this...
Mommy: Rhiannyn Elizabeth, where in the world are your panties?!
Rhi: "They were widing (riding) up my butt!
Mommy: Utterly speechless, and completely shocked my daughter even knows what that means, but I immediately am thinking where the heck did she hear that?
Rhi: what? its dus fine mom!

Once I got back out to the car I decided it was funny, and chuckled uncontrollably all the way home. Oh wow... what am I going to do with her!

What have we been up to you say?

I should warn you that this is a pretty long post... please continue if you have time ;)

Although it seems like we never slow down, I we really haven't been doing a whole lot that is worth blogging about so I did a quick recon through my recent pics, and this is what I came up with... pretty random, but entertaining nonetheless.

We've enjoyed the park on occasion weather permitting.

Jaden making us laugh with his early morning antics... he pulls his jammie pants up as high as he can then puts his arms at his side with elbows bent, and hands hanging in a weird way, then does this strange little walk that looks so silly, and chases the girls through the house, never getting above a light stroll speed. I don't why but it creeps the girls out, and he LOVES to torment them!

Aubryn won the coveted Golden Pencil Award with a very intriguing piece about alphabet friends.
Started Piano, and is doing very well! Proud mommy moment!



We got new curlers, and they worked great but I forgot to take the after shots (Bummer) but the full head of curlers picture is a classic!


I got to do a friends daughter's senior pics over spring break! They were in a bind, (long story), I have no idea why they asked me, but the pictures turned out really cute, of course Shawni is so pretty is wasn't hard, it was so STRESSFULL, and tiring!!! Brandi, Amber, Jess...I do not know how you do it! So I don't think I'll be adding professional photographer to my title anytime soon!!! Its much more relaxing when its a hobby...but I did have fun, and I was so glad I could help a friend out and save her some worry.

It just occurred to me that I haven't taken any pictures of Shawn lately... its probably because he is NEVER home! Sad I know, he works so hard, and I'm so thankful for a hard working husband. I look around at other peoples situations and can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for all my blessings. Anyway we've been busy, but nothing of any real importance... I'll post easter pics soon!

Hide and seek

Rhiannyn and Jaden are playing hide and seek... this is how is goes.

Jaden: Randy you go count, and you count to 50.
Rhi: I don't know how to count to fifty!
Jaden: Yes you do you go like this (holding up all his fingers) 1,2,3,4,5,6 and then you get to 50.
Rhi: Oh, okay... you hide in the closet and I'll find you in a minute.
Jaden: [runs to the closet]
Rhi: 1,2,3,5,6,9,10,11... mom when comes 50?
mom: after 49
Rhi: feerty-nine.... fifty, ready, not here I come..... found you jaden!
Jaden: aahooooh, why you find me so fast, you're possa do it slow.
Rhi: Now you count to 50 Jaden
Jaden: Uhhh how bout color on the chalk board?
Rhi: Nah I'm going to clean the bathroom.

Miss independent, Miss self-sufficient....

This was a normal day of Rhi and I, just hanging out while the other kids are at school. She eats breakfast, she helps clean up, and she takes a shower. On days we just stay home I just let her go pick out whatever she wants to wear. This shirt is usually the one she picks, it has little pink birds on it, and its her favorite. And in typical 3 year old fashion she HAS to do everything BY HERSELF! Every time she wears it... her screams of agony can be heard throughout the house, and yet refuses to let me help. So don't think that I'm a bad mom, and just let my child suffer, I tried to help her several times she is just too stubborn to let me help her!





When she realized I was taking pictures of her, she stopped screaming. (I should pretend to take pictures of her antics more often)


Finally! Got that big ol' head through the hole! (no thanks to me of course!)

I had to take one of her actually happy, hair combed, and looking cute. I can put up with a little screaming now and then as long as I get to see this happy face when its all said and done! Love you Rhi!

School Supplies.....

So far this school year I have purchased 3 boxes of crayons for Aubryn. She is always asking me for a nex box of crayons. "I only have 6 colors", "I couldn't finish my penguin because I don't have black" "I looked in the lost and found box, but they are all broken" etc. Mrs. Gillen always sends a note home if they are out of supplies, and I haven't seen one lately so I haven't bought her new crayons (she can be pretty dramatic). However, I went to her class today to visit for a minute, and then to go have lunch. She's in the middle of an art project involving her sight words (which are the names of colors) She is using tiny little pieces of broken crayons, borrowing colored pencils.... I was embarrassed! I apologized to Mrs. Gillen for not sending new crayons... she was not concerned, because she says its not that Aubryn has broken her crayons, its that she doesn't clean up after herself most of the time. And ALL the left over supplies go in the infamous "lost and found box". So after talking to Aubryn about taking care of our stuff, and being responsible for our things especially at school, I go to Walmart and buy her new crayons, I also bought a pack of address labels. She thinks she's just getting a regular old box of crayons to take back to school, but I'm not just sending crayons... I'm also send little reminders.

I figured if they do end up in the "Lost and Found" she'll be able to tell which ones are hers.


AND, since she is super dooper smart and can read really well.... I figured a little reminder couldn't hurt.

Sweet little Aubryn

Yesterday we had a snow day... I was so glad since I hadn't felt very good for a few days. Not really sick, just been fighting a migraine on and off for a few days. So I'm being lazy trying to get motivated to get out of bed, because I can hear the kids starting to stir around the house. All of the sudden Aubryn comes in my room with my huge lasagna pan (which has handles on the sides) inside sits a bowl of cereal filled with milk. She brought me breakfast in bed!! It was so cute, and even though migraines make me nauseous I proudly ate my delightful breakfast with my sweet daughter. I'm very blessed to have such a thoughtful, and kind daughter. LOVE YOU AUBRYN!

Dino hatchlings

My mom saw these weird little eggs at the dollar store, and picked one up for Jaden Last week. Jaden loves all things dino, so he thought this was great. The girls thought it was so cool so she went back and got them an egg too; so we documented this joyous occasion.



You can see where Rhi tried to poke a hole in her egg... she's very impatient.





Rhiannyn's came out a little deformed, but just like a true mother she adored her baby dino... birth defects and all.

Weird, I know but the kids had so much fun watching them hatch.
